What inspired Swaminathan to tell the Drill Master that he was delirious?
Swaminathan was inspired to tell the Drill Master that he was delirious after realizing that a simple complaint like a headache would not be taken seriously by the Drill Master, who appeared to be in a mood to dismiss even serious ailments lightly. This led Swaminathan to claim something more drastic, like delirium, to avoid attending the drill and have time for cricket practice.
