What are the three layers of the earth?
The three layers of the Earth are:
Crust: The outermost layer, varying in thickness from about 5 km under oceans to 35 km on continents. It’s composed of silica, alumina (continental crust, or sial), and silica, magnesium (oceanic crust, or sima).
Mantle: Extending up to 2900 km beneath the crust, making up 84% of Earth’s volume. It is dense, hot, and semi-fluid in nature, affecting the movement of tectonic plates.
Core: The innermost layer, with a radius of approximately 3500 km, consists primarily of nickel and iron (nife). It’s divided into the solid inner core and liquid outer core, significantly influencing Earth’s magnetic field.

What is the thickness of the Earth's crust?
The Earth's crust is the thinnest layer, with a thickness of about 35 km on continental masses and only 5 km on ocean floors. Comprising 1 per cent of the Earth's volume, it is made mainly of sial (silica and alumina) on continents and sima (silica and magnesium) on oceanic crusts.
What are the main mineral constituents of the continental mass and the oceanic crust?
