Back Questions - Mijbil the Otter | First Flight | Class 10 Literature | CBSE English

What things does Mijbil do which tell you that he is an intelligent, friendly and fun-loving animal who needs love?

Mijbil is portrayed as a pet that, much like more typical pets, exhibits traits of intelligence, friendliness, and a love for fun. His intelligence is evident when he manages to turn on the bathroom tap to get water for his amusement. This intellect is further demonstrated when he invents a game involving a tilted suitcase. He would place a ball on one end, allowing it to roll to the other side, then quickly dash to the opposite end to catch the ball. His friendly nature is seen in how he follows the author and responds when his name is called. Mijbil's fun-loving spirit is showcased through his playful activities. He spends most of his time playing, with marbles being his favorite toys. He would lie on his back and juggle two or more marbles on his wide belly, remarkably without letting any of them fall to the floor.

Mijbil, as I called the otter, was, in fact, of a race previously unknown to science and was at length christened by zoologists Lutrogale Perspicillata Maxwelli, or Maxwell's otter. For the first twenty- four hours, Mijbil was neither hostile nor friendly; he was simply aloof and indifferent, choosing to sleep on the floor as far from my bed as possible.

a. Who was Mijbil?
b. How did the otter behave for the first twenty-four hours?
c. How did he behave after the first twenty-four hours?
