Unlock now 🔓Jim told you how much trouble he faced while seeking publishers for his work. You report the same to a publisher-friend, asking her/him to help out.
Here’s what Jim told you.
‘.... a concerted demand was made (by friends) to publish my stories in regular book form; but before I was able to make a start, Hitler began his land-collecting tour ... As I had only one friend who has ever published a book, I appealed to him for advice. After skimming through the pages of my manuscript, his verdict was that he did not think any publishing house would look at it unless I was prepared to indemnify against all loss resulting from the publication. Writhe visions of spending my days indemnifying publishers for vast looses. I thanked my friend for the advice and brought the manuscript home.”
Write to your publisher-friend, seeking help. The Beginning has been given.

Jim was a naturalist even at a tender age. Bring out the truth in the statement.
The statement highlights Jim's deep connection with nature from a young age. Growing up in Kaladhungi and Nainital, he spent much of his childhood exploring the wilderness that lay around him. This allowed him to develop a deep knowledge of the ways of the jungle, and he intelligently used all his senses when in the jungle. As a young boy, he dressed in bush clothing and never forgot to wear his assortment of hats when he went into the jungle. His Indian friends proudly called him "shikari" for his fearlessness.

Should you always accept criticism from your near and dear ones or assess it first? Draw your conclusion from ‘A Jungle Boy at Heart’.
No, I don’t think criticism should be accepted at its face value. Many times, criticism can be destructive. If we were to believe that every time someone criticises us, then there is no way one can fulfil their dreams. As we see in the story ‘A jungle boy at heart’ when Corbett sought advice from his friend who had once published a book. That friend had told him that no publishing house would publish it unless he agreed to pay them compensation for their loss. But contrary to his friend’s belief, the book sold over six lakh copies internationally in its first year and was praised by critics. This proves that if Corbett had believed his friends’ words, he would have lost all the fame he received worldwide, and everyone else would have missed out on a phenomenal author.
