About the Author - He was a providence | My English Folder Coursebook | Class 7 Literature | English

Rudyard Kipling was an English author, poet, and journalist born in Bombay, India in 1865. He is best known for his works of fiction, including The Jungle Book and Kim, as well as his poetry, such as "Ifβ€”" and "The White Man's Burden." Kipling spent his childhood in India and later moved to England, where he worked as a journalist and continued to write fiction and poetry. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907, making him the first English-language writer to receive the honor. Kipling's writing often reflected his experiences in colonial India and his belief in the importance of the British Empire. Despite controversy surrounding his views on race and imperialism, Kipling remains a significant figure in English literature.
