Summary - The Fir Tree | New Images Next | Class 6 Literature | English

The Fir Tree has been personified to explain what the most appropriate place for the fir tree would be and how the greed to be somewhere else in a better place led to his very sad demise. The story begins with fir tree on a very good place. The sun shone on him, as to fresh air, there was enough of that, and round him grew many large-sized pines as well as firs. But the little Fir wanted to be a grown-up tree. But when a hare would leap over him that made him angry, he wanted to grow and grow, to get older and be tall and thought it was the most beautiful thing in the world.
When Christmas came, quite young trees were cut down.
