Lewis Carroll was the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, an English writer, mathematician, and photographer born in 1832. He is best known for his children's books "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking-Glass," which have become classics of children's literature. Carroll's writing is characterized by its playful and imaginative nature, filled with wordplay, nonsense, and fantastical creatures. Besides writing, Carroll was also an accomplished mathematician and logician known for his work in the field of symbolic logic. He was a lecturer at Oxford University and spent much of his life there, enjoying the company of children and taking up photography as a hobby. Despite his success as a writer, Carroll remained a private person and was known to be shy and reserved. He died in 1898 at the age of 65.
