The constellation Perseus in the Northern skies is named after a half-human, half-god Greek hero, son of Zeus and Danae. Perseus and his mother were sent to an island called Serifos where they were cared for by Dictys, whose brother, Polydectes, the islandβs evil king, sought to wed Danae. Perseus, protective of his mother, cunningly kept the king at bay.
Feeling snubbed, Polydectes plotted to shoo Perseus away by making a seemingly impossible demand from him...
